We’re growing an ecosystem that builds power for communities impacted by racialised criminalisation to create systems of healing, safety and justice.

FROM HARM TO HEALING

For generations, communities across the country have been harmed by systems rooted in racism and criminalisation. Policing, prisons and other institutions have too often produced harm instead of safety.

But our communities have always held the knowledge, care and leadership to build something different.

Harm to Healing exists to grow that power.

Together, we are building the relationships, imagination and resources needed to move from harm to healing.

  • Communities most impacted by racialised criminalisation hold the knowledge, experience and leadership needed to create change. Harm to Healing exists to strengthen that power - supporting connection, collective leadership and the ability for communities to shape the systems that affect their lives. Real transformation begins when communities have the power to define the future.

  • The harms of criminalisation run deep - affecting individuals, families and whole communities. Healing means creating infrastructure that centres care, dignity, repair and collective wellbeing. Harm to Healing works to ensure that healing is the foundation for justice and transformation.

  • The systems that claim to deliver safety too often produce harm. Across communities, people are imagining and building new approaches to safety, accountability and justice that move beyond punishment and criminalisation. Harm to Healing helps grow the ecosystem needed for these new systems to take root and flourish.
